Event Description

Rethink Autism (www.rethinkautism.com) offers an award-winning technology platform (web based collaboration tool) that assists public school districts in providing research-based services to students with autism and related disabilities in a cost-effective manner. This free presentation will demonstrate the online system for teachers that includes a comprehensive curriculum aligned with the Common Core Standards, ongoing staff development via modeled lessons on video (not lectures), individualized assessment tools, and behavior tracking and automated data tracking – all developed by leaders in the field of autism treatment and research.

In addition, Rethink Autism’s IEP Builder, which is integrated into the comprehensive web-based platform, will be demonstrated. The benefits of Rethink Autism’s IEP Builder are:

• Saves time generating IEP goals which are seamlessy aligned with Rethink Curriculum

• Individualizes a learning plan for each student, driven by the Rethink Assessment

• Automates reporting for IEP meetings and progress reviews

• Makes it easy to implement the IEP, with step-by-step videos and lesson plans showing how to

address each goal using research-based teaching strategies.

Presenter: Jamie Pagliaro is Executive Vice-President and Co-Creator of Rethink Autism, an educational technology company headquartered in New York City. He has spent the past 17 years working in clinical and administrative roles at programs for individuals with autism and severe behavior disorders.  Prior to Rethink Autism, Jamie was Founding Executive Director of the New York Center for Autism Charter School, New York’s first charter school exclusively dedicated to serving students with autism.
